#MeToo movement demonstrated the power of the creative industries to cause a societal ripple effect for gender actions. The path to equality in the sector, however, is full of impediments such as unequal access to employment opportunities, unfair remuneration, and underrepresentation of women in leadership positions. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated the already-significant gender disparity in the arts.
